CHEM 101 General Chemistry (3)A course designed to meet the needs of both the non-science major and the students entering allied health fields. Emphasis is placed on basic chemistry concepts, giving the student a strong background in a variety of topics in order to appreciate the role of science and particularly chemistry in modern-day life. Topics include atomic structure, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, kinetics, equilibria, acids and bases, and nuclear chemistry. Competency at the MATH 101 level and beyond is suggested. CHEM 101 is not open to students who have completed CHEM 111 or CHEM 112 . Lectures three hours per week. Co-requisite(s): CHEM 101L . Course Frequency: Fall
