ASTR 231 Introduction to Astrophysics (3)A general survey of fundamental astronomy. The course covers fundamental astronomy concepts, conventions, and terminology. It briefly reviews certain physical concepts, such as gravity and radiative processes, and applies them in an astrophysical context. It then introduces the basic principles required for more advanced courses: planetary, stellar, and galatic/extragalactic astrophysics. Prerequisite(s): PHYS 112 or HONS 158 Course Frequency: Spring
