Students explore themes and topics of Roman daily life through analysis of letters written by Cicero, Horace, Pliny and others; texts also include Christian authors and papyrus/tablet remains from Egypt and Britain. The study of letters will include theoretical approaches and their relationship to modern electronic communication and social media. Prerequisite(s): 3 credit hours in Classics or permission of the instructor Course Frequency: Occasional
