HIST 323 Society and Culture of Early Charleston (3)Topics in American social history studied through a focus on society and culture in 18th- and early 19th-century Charleston. Topics include immigrant groups, demography, mortality, economic and social structure, urban and plantation life, slavery, the role of women, education, religion, fine arts, architecture and decorative arts. Prerequisite(s): EITHER HIST 115 -HIST 116 OR any other combination of courses that satisfies the general education history requirement . Course Frequency: Spring
