PHYS 409 Electromagnetism I (3)This is an intermediate course in electromagnetism with particular emphasis to electrostatics and magnetostatics. The major topics covered in this course are: electrostatic fields; magnetostatic fields; electric current and Lorentz force law; conductors, capacitors, and dielectric materials; magnetic materials; and electromagnetic induction. Prerequisite(s): (PHYS 112 or HONS 158 ) and (MATH 323 or PHYS 272 ) or permission of the instructor. Course Frequency: Fall
