PSYC 344 Psychology of Substance Abuse (3)This course presents an overview of psychologically based models for understanding why individuals engage in substance abuse. Emphasis is on cognitive, emotional and behavioral factors that explain why some individuals transition from casual use to substance abuse. Approaches to prevention, treatment and contemporary drug policy issues will be considered. Prerequisite(s): PSYC 103 and PSYC 221 Course Frequency: Fall and Spring
