GEOL 256 Mineralogy and Petrology (4)Class topics will include discussion of the origin and identification of minerals, and igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. These concepts are fundamental to the discipline of geology. Hand-sample, microscopic, and spectroscopic methods will be used. Lecture three hours per week; laboratory three hours per week. Prerequisite(s): GEOL 103 and GEOL 105 or HONS 155 and HONS 156 Corequisite(s): GEOL 256L Course Frequency: Fall
