LTAR 221 Islamic World Literature (in English Translation) (3)This course presents works in English translation originally composed in Arabic, Persian, and Turkish from the sixth to the fifteenth century A.D. Genres and topics include poetry, prose, epic, Andalusian writings, philosophy, Sufi mysticism, biography of the prophet Muhammad, and pre-Islamic poetry.
