SOCY 260 Development of Social Thought (3)The emergence of sociology as a response to the Industrial Revolution and as an attempt to develop a scientific understanding of social organization, behavior and change. Reviews the historical origins of social ideas about society and how these affect modern sociological thinking. This is a required foundation course for Sociology majors and minors completed during the first 18 hours. Prerequisite(s): SOCY 101 or HONS 167 or SOCY 102 . Course Frequency: Fall and Spring
