PHYS 104 Conceptual Physics and Applications II (3)This course is the second of a two-semester sequence that provides a conceptual survey of physics’ central laws, theories, and concepts with their applications to modern technology and the scientific process. An emphasis will be given to the social, historical, and philosophical context in which physics discoveries and theories occur and the impact of these discoveries on modern society. Topics may include electricity and magnetism, optics, theory of relativity, and nuclear physics. Prerequisite(s): PHYS 101 or PHYS 103 or PHYS 111 or HONS 157 Corequisite(s): PHYS 104L Course Frequency: Spring Note: The target audience of the PHYS 103/104 sequence is non-science majors. PHYS 103/104 does not prepare students for the MCAT or a similar test.
