WGST 225 Social Issues in Women’s and Gender Studies (3)

This is a variable topics course in which students will explore current or historical social issues from a Women’s and Gender Studies perspective. The course will critically interrogate a specific set of social issues by engaging with WGS conceptual frameworks, such as intersectional feminism, leading to deeper understandings of how power shapes both our world and lived experiences. Students can expect to also engage with approaches that challenge social issues/problems including thinkers, activists, creatives, and movements that support social change and social justice. (Specific course descriptions will vary). 
Prerequisite(s): WGST 200  or HONS 174  or permission of instructor
Course Frequency: Fall and Spring
Repeatable: May be repeated for credit when course content varies.
