Mission Statement

Our mission is to prepare educators to work with multilingual learners (MLs) in both local and global instructional settings. CofC’s MAT in ML Education looks to cultivate professional expertise that inspires academic success for all students.

Program Description

The Master of Arts in Teaching in Multilingual Learner (ML) Education is an online program (39 credit hours). In addition to the online coursework, students complete 75 hours of supervised field experience prior to the semester-long clinical practicum internship in designated PK-12 schools. • Educational Foundations: Gain a deep understanding of teaching, learning, and second-language development.
  • Advanced Coursework: Master strategies for teaching multilingual learners, assess their progress, and foster language acquisition.
  • Read to Succeed: Integrate literacy theory and practice into your teaching, aligned with state requirements.
