European Studies Minor

European Studies is an interdisciplinary area studies minor that introduces students to the diverse cultures and nations of Europe through the study of history, literature, languages, visual arts, economics, politics, religion, and society.

Minor Requirements


Credit Hours: 18+

In addition to completing the requirements for this minor, students must also complete the minor requirements specified in the Academic Regulations  section of this catalog.

Required Introductory Course


Electives


Complete 15 credit hours from the following two categories with no more than 6 credit hours in any one discipline and with at least 9 credit hours from the Humanities, Literature, and Social Sciences category.

Notes:


*ENGL 350 will count toward the minor when it deals with authors from the British Isles.

*ENGL 360 will count toward the minor when it deals with topics related to Irish, British or Scottish literatures.

*FREN 390 will count when it deals with topics in French studies.


Note


*INTB 360 will count as an elective when 1/3 of the content pertains to European Studies, as approved by the Program Director.
