Medical Humanities Minor

The College of Charleston’s minor in Medical Humanities draws from a variety of departments including history, English, anthropology, sociology, psychology, Latin-American studies, philosophy, and Women’s and Gender Studies, Education, and Public Health. The minor approaches health, disease and medical care as culturally embedded human experiences that vary across time and place.

In addition to completing the requirements for this minor, students must also complete the minor requirements specified in the Academic Regulations section of this catalog.

Complete 15 credit hours from the following:

Students may take no more than two (2) courses in any one discipline. Special Topics courses may be counted for the minor by permission of the program director; at least 1/3 of course content must be relevant to medical humanities.
