GEOL 362 Field Studies in Environmental Geosciences (4)

This summer field course will enable students to discover the interconnection between human activities and their impacts on the Earth’s systems. The student will typically travel to Colorado to examine changes to the Colorado River as the river flows 1000 miles from its headwaters to the Hoover Dam. The drainage basins of the Green and San Juan Rivers will also be studied. The focus of the students’ work will be to assess the sustainable management of geological and environmental resources along the rivers and how shifting climate and increased population has and will impact humans that depend on this aquatic resource.
Prerequisite(s): GEOL 253 , GEOL 272
