GEOL 213 Natural Hazards (3)This course investigates the scientific aspects of several types of natural hazards (earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, etc.) using in-depth case studies of recent and historical hazardous events. The course will emphasize both hazardous impacts and means of mitigating risks. Case studies of specific events will be used to highlight the social, economic, environmental and human impacts. Prerequisite(s): GEOL 103 or HONS 155 or permission of the instructor. Course Frequency: Fall
