JWST 260 American Jewish History: Colonial Times to the Present (3)This course offers a survey of American Jewish life from the colonial period to the present day. We will explore the trajectory of American Jewish social, cultural, and political integration as well as the ambivalence many Jews felt, and continue to feel, toward their position in American society. This class will give voice to a plurality of perspectives in American Jewish society inspired by the regional, religious, ethnic, racial, class, gender, and sexual differences that comprise American Jewry, past and present.
