GEOL 362 Field Studies: Environmental Geosciences (4)This summer field course will enable students to discover the interconnection between human activities and their impacts on the Earth’s systems. The student will typically travel to Colorado to examine changes to the Colorado River as the river flows 1000 miles from its headwaters to the Hoover Dam. The drainage basins of the Green and San Juan Rivers will also be studied. The focus of the students’ work will be to assess the sustainable management of geological and environmental resources along the rivers and how shifting climate and increased population has and will impact humans that depend on this aquatic resource. Prerequisite(s): GEOL 105 / GEOL 105L or HONS 156 / HONS 156L and at least one of the following courses: GEOL 253 , GEOL 272 , GEOL 291 or permission of instructor. Course Frequency: Occasional
