International Studies Minor

Minor Requirements


Credit Hours: 18

In addition to completing the requirements for this minor, students must also complete the minor requirements specified in the Academic Regulations  section of this catalog.

Select one course from each of the following two categories:


Category II: International Politics, History, Geography, Economics, Culture and Literature


Electives: 9 credit hours


Nine credit hours directed towards a non-US geographic area (Africa, Asia, Europe, or Latin America) chosen from the lists of courses below, or by taking nine credit hours from INTL courses at the 200-level or above excluding INTL 350 , INTL 401 , and INTL 495 .

Note:


Other Departmental and Program topics, special topics, selected topics, research seminars, tutorials, independent study, and bachelor’s essay courses will also be counted when their content is 1/3 focused on the Africa region as determined by the director of International Studies.

Asia Focus (9 credit hours)

Other Departmental and Program topics, special topics, selected topics, research seminars, tutorials, independent study, and bachelor’s essay courses will also be counted when their content is 1/3 focused on the Asia region as determined by the director of International Studies.

Europe Focus (9 credit hours)

Latin America and the Caribbean Focus (9 credit hours)

  • No more than 6 credit hours from INTL 350  may be applied towards the program requirements.
