Complete 9 additional credit hours from any of the above five distribution areas or any HIST 200-level or higher course.
Senior Capstone:
3 credit hours in a capstone research seminar, senior paper, or bachelor’s essay (normally taken in the senior year, which requires a substantial paper). Notes:
- All majors must have passed at least one 200-level course before taking a 300-level course.
- All majors must have passed at least one 300-level course before taking a 400-level course.
- All majors must have taken at least two related (one 200-level and one 300-level or two 300-level) courses before seeking permission to take a capstone research seminar, senior paper or bachelor’s essay.
- No more than 9 credit hours from HIST 210 may be applied towards the program requirements.
- No more than 15 credit hours from HIST 241 may be applied towards the program requirements.
- No more than 6 credit hours from HIST 250 may be applied towards the program requirements.
- No more than 9 credit hours from HIST 261 may be applied towards the program requirements.
- No more than 12 credit hours from HIST 310 may be applied towards the program requirements.
- No more than 6 credit hours from HIST 370 may be applied towards the program requirements.
- No more than 12 credit hours from HIST 402 may be applied towards the program requirements.
