Major Requirements

Credit Hours: 42+

In addition to completing the requirements for this major, students must also complete the degree requirements specified in the Academic Regulations section of this catalog.

The major must include at least 15 credit hours at or above the 300-level.

*FYSE 139 (FYSE 1XX ) may be used when it covers Theatre’s Visual Language and is approved by department chair.

Complete an additional 9 credit hours, with at least 6 credit hours at the 300-level or above, from the following:

*Courses may not be used to satisfy requirements listed above.

Complete one of the following options:

Option 1* (3 credit hours)

THTR 490 Independent Study in Theatre (1-3)

Option 2* (6 credit hours)

Option 3* (6 credit hours)

Note:

*The same THTR 490 course cannot be used to satisfy both Option 1 and an elective. Students completing either HONS 499A and HONS 499B or THTR 499A and THTR 499B will be required to complete 6 credit hours from the list of Theatre Studies Electives.

Notes:

No more than 6 credit hours from THTR 350 may be applied towards the program requirements.
No more than 12 credit hours from THTR 399 may be applied towards the program requirements.
No more than 6 credit hours from THTR 401 may be applied towards the program requirements.
No more than 2 credit hours from THTR 411 may be applied towards the program requirements.
No more than 6 credit hours from THTR 450 may be applied towards the program requirements.
No more than 6 credit hours from THTR 490 may be applied towards the program requirements.

Coursework Meeting Major Requirements Excluded from the Major GPA Calculation
