Asian Studies Minor

Minor Requirements

Credit Hours: 18

In addition to completing the requirements for this minor, students must also complete the  section of this catalog.

Required Course

Complete 3 credit hours from the following:

• ASST 101 Introduction to Asian Studies (3)
• ARTH 103 Asian Art and Architecture (3)
• ASST 105 Value and Tradition in Asian Civilizations (3)

Select 15 additional credit hours from the following, 9 of which must be at the 200-level or higher:

Language courses beyond the 200-level may count toward the minor. No more than 6 credit hours at the 100-level may count toward the minor.

Notes:

• When approved by the program director, additional Special Topics courses may also count toward the minor provided at least 1/3 of the content focuses on Asia.
• Students are not permitted to minor in Asian Studies and major in International Studies with a concentration in Asia.
• No more than 9 credit hours from  may be applied toward the program requirements.
• No more than 9 credit hours from may be applied toward the program requirements.
