Major Requirements

Select 8 credit hours from the following of which 4 credit hours must be in one area of applied music (MUSP course at the 200 and/or 400-level):

MUSC 475 Senior Recital (3 or 6)
MUSP 4xx Requirement:

Complete 6 additional credit hours from any MUSP 4XX Applied Music couses.
Additional MUSC and/or MUSP Requirement:

Complete 3 additional credit hours in any MUSC and/or MUSP course(s).

ANTH 201 Cultural Anthropology (3)
Complete 3 credit hours from the following:
ARTH 102 History of Art: Renaissance Through Modern (3)
Complete 6 credit hours from any combination of the following:
MUSC 444 Seminar: Selected Topics in Music History (3)
MUSC 445 Senior Independent Study: Music History (3 or 6)
Additional MUSC and/or MUSP Requirement:

Complete 3 additional credi hours in any MUSC and/or MUSP course(s).

All music majors must pass a piano proficiency exam or take at least 2 credit hours of piano or class piano.
No more than 8 credit hours in any one area from MUSP 2xx may be applied towards the program requirements.
No more than 8 credit hours in any one area from MUSP 3xx may be applied towards the program requirements.
No more than 8 credit hours in any one area from MUSP 4xx may be applied towards the program requirements.
No more than 12 credit hours from MUSC 399 may be applied towards the program requirements.
No more than 2 credit hours from MUSC 438 may be applied towards the program requirements.
No more than 2 credit hours from MUSC 439 may be applied towards the program requirements.
No more than 12 credit hours from MUSC 460 may be applied towards the program requirements.
No more than 8 credit hours from any combination of ensembles or concert choir may be applied toward program requirements. This includes: MUSC 161 , MUSC 353 , MUSC 354 , MUSC 355 , MUSC 356 , MUSC 357 , MUSC 358 , MUSC 359 , MUSC 360 , MUSC 363 , MUSC 364 , MUSC 365 , MUSC 368 , MUSC 367 .
